John thrives on helping management teams and stakeholders identify obstacles to growth and implement solutions and capital to accelerate scalable value creation. Throughout his career as a C-level Executive, investor and board member, John has been retained by numerous CEO’s and private equity firms to co-lead the assessment and growth of start-up, emerging and large-scale restaurant, hospitality and technology businesses.

As President and Managing Partner of JJ Todd Consulting, John has led a unique portfolio of several restaurant and technology brands, incorporating an integrated consulting and capital investment model similar to if.food. Recently, John has led Better Buzz Coffee, one of the top emerging coffee house brands in the U.S., through business planning and capital formation phases. He remains actively involved in leading and advising management in their omni channel growth initiatives, including consumer product development and distribution. John led a similar process as the key advisor and early investor in PowerDot, a consumer technology brand focused on therapeutic recovery, and co-led the recent sale to Therebody.

As co-founder of Apex Restaurant Group, John has also led large scale businesses in a variety of capacities, including CEO of Metromedia Restaurant Group, a 1,200+ multi brand and multi national restaurant company. He was a board member and COO of Quiznos to help drive key initiatives and scalable improvements that led to its sale in 2007.

John has held CFO and senior executive positions at Pizza Hut and Boston Market where he was responsible for strategic planning, development, franchising, new concept development and overall financial management. Uniquely, John held similar CFO or COO positions in large technology business including Gateway Computer, Sonic Blue, and the Aerospace divisions of Allied Signal.

A graduate of Virginia’s Longwood University, Mr. Todd holds an MBA from the College of William & Mary and resides with his family in Delaware.
